To provide adequate information, training, and assistance for the volunteer to be able to meet the responsibilities of the volunteer position.
To ensure diligent supervisory aid to the volunteer and to provide feedback on performance.
To be receptive to any comments from the volunteer regarding ways in which we might mutually better accomplish our respective tasks.
To treat the volunteer as an equal partner, jointly responsible with staff for completion of the program mission.
ORGANIZATION'S MISSION STATEMENT
The Brantford and District Supervised Access Centre offers a safe, neutral, child-focused service for children zero to eighteen years and their families. The centre provides supervised services such as visits and exchanges between children and their non-custodial significant others. The centre maintains documentation and factual observations of visits and exchanges for court purposes.
VOLUNTEER ROLE & OPPORTUNITIES
Ensures the immediate safety of the children using B.D.S.A.C.
Observes, objectively, parent and child interactions during visits or exchanges and records pertinent information.
Helps parents and children toward building healthy relationships.
Documents whether parents are following B.D.S.A.C. rules.
